Gala Dinner Entertainment for International Companies

An elegant mentalism show in English, built around your guests and the rhythm of the evening.

Why most corporate dinners are forgotten

A gala dinner works hard to be impressive. The venue is chosen carefully, the menu is refined, the room looks the way it should. And yet, three weeks later, almost nobody remembers the evening itself.

The reason is simple. Everything on that list is expected. Guests assume the venue will be beautiful and the food will be good, so none of it becomes a memory. What people remember is the moment something happened that they could not have predicted.

What a mentalist brings to a formal dinner

I am not a magician who moves between tables with a deck of cards. I work with thoughts, choices and predictions: a word someone is only thinking of, a decision made moments before it happens, a coincidence that should not be possible.

For a dinner audience this matters, because mentalism does not require attention to be seized. It earns it. Guests are not asked to stop and watch a performance. They are drawn into something that appears to be happening to them, which is why they talk about it long after the plates have been cleared.

The tone stays adult and understated throughout. Nobody is embarrassed, nobody is dragged to the front of the room, and nothing about the evening is loud.

Working in English, in Italy and abroad

I perform in Italian, English and French, and I work regularly with international audiences.

At the Circolo della Caccia in Palazzo Borghese in Rome, I performed for three hundred international guests in full black tie, entirely in English. For an international cosmetics brand in Milan, I worked through a dinner for sixty guests seated at a single long table, again in English, moving between small groups rather than taking a stage.

When guests speak several languages, I move to a visual repertoire where words become almost unnecessary, and the effects land the same way for everyone in the room.

Two ways to fit a show into a dinner

A stage set, after dessert. Forty-five minutes, or a shorter version, delivered as a single moment for the whole room. This is the format I prefer, because everyone experiences the same thing at the same instant and the evening acquires a moment people can name afterwards.

Moving between tables. When the room has no natural focal point, when guests are spread across spaces, or when the programme is already full, I move between tables during the meal or the aperitif. This is close-up mentalism, and in the right room it works better than a stage would.

The choice is made on the evening, not on habit. Tell me how the room is laid out and how the programme runs, and I will tell you which one fits.

A real evening: the Biotek congress gala in Stresa

Biotek, a leading company in the permanent make-up industry, closed its congress with a gala dinner at the historic Hotel Regina Palace in Stresa, on Lake Maggiore.

The audience had spent the day in technical sessions. By dinner they had heard enough presentations, and what the evening needed was not more content but a change of register: something that would bring the room back together without asking anyone to concentrate again.

That is what the show did. It gave the congress a closing moment that belonged to the people in the room rather than to the programme.

When the event is the conference itself rather than the dinner that closes it, the format changes. That is covered on the conventions and conferences page.

Spettacolo di Mentalismo

More than a booking: shows built for the occasion

Alongside my corporate work I develop original productions, full theatrical shows with their own narrative structure. One of them is built entirely around the idea that the mind is more predictable than we like to admit, and it has been performed for the management audience of an international engineering group.

I mention this for one reason only. When a company hires an artist for a gala dinner, the real question is whether that artist has depth beyond a set of tricks. Building original theatre is how I answer it, and it is the material the corporate shows are drawn from.

Personalising the show for your company

Where it makes sense, a message, a figure or a company theme can be built into the performance and revealed as part of an effect rather than announced from the stage. It is the difference between an entertainer who was hired and an evening that belonged to your company.

This works best when the message is one clear idea. It works badly when it becomes a presentation in disguise, and I will tell you honestly which of the two you are asking for.

A gala dinner is one of several formats I work in. The full picture for companies is on the mentalist for corporate events page.

Tell me about your evening

The date, the venue, the number of guests, the languages in the room and how the programme runs. I will come back with the format that fits and a quote.
